Situated about 60 km northeast of the city, Si Lanna National Park is popular with the locals for its water activities such as kayaking, white-water rafting, fishing and several unique waterfalls. Here visitors can marvel at the Jedsi ‘Rainbow’ Spring, which turns into a kaleidoscope of colours as light enters the water, and Bua Thong Waterfall which is surely one of the most fascinating waterfalls you’ll ever see, or walk up. Yes, you can actually walk up and down the waterfall thanks to special mineral deposits that make the rocks ‘sticky’. Another favourite activity in Si Lanna National Park is visiting Mae Ngat Reservoir which is home to a number of floating house boats that visitors can rent overnight. Spend the day swimming, sunbathing and simply relaxing in a picturesque environment before dining on a delicious Thai meal and drifting off to sleep on top of the water. The park also features several other waterfalls, caves and campsites. Whether you decide to visit the park for the day or end up spending the night, you’ll feel worlds away from the city of Chiang Mai and get a sense of the beauty of Northern Thailand.

How far from this route catmotors.net/routes/doi-ang-khang/ ? My friend says it's about 2-3 hours on the road to Si Lanna, but it looks closer on the map... Any idea?Read More
