Nahan
Flanked by the Shivalik mountain range on each side, Nahan is a paradise of sorts full of green fields, clean streets, and lofty trees. It was founded by Raja Karan Prakash in 1621 as his state capital. Legend also has it that Nahan has been named after a namesake saint. There is yet another more convincing legend that states an incident involving the Raja, a lion, and a saint. As per the story, when the Raja was attempting to kill a lion during his hunting spree, a saint by the name of Banwari Das intervened and called out “Nahan” meaning “do not kill” in order to stop the assassination. Tourists love visiting Nahan, a cantonment town in Himachal Pradesh to enjoy its beautiful gardens, the lake and the temples.

Parwanoo
This is also one of the nearest off-beat hill stations near Delhi. Known for its fruit orchards, Parwanoo is a haven for those who love fresh fruit juices, organic jams and marmalades. The whole town is coloured green, red and peach, and tourists can also explore its gardens, temples and the ropeway operated for tourists by Hotel Timber Trail Heights.
