Shopping in Nice

Nice deserves special accolade when it comes to shopping, and trust me I won’t write that very often! If looking for fresh flowers, fruits, cheeses, spices and olives, then Cours Saleya is the place to be. Avenue Jean Médecin located in the centre of Nice is brimming with shops on either side, most of them with high street brands and some boutique shops, somewhat akin to Oxford Street of London. Would like to mention one boutique shop Tireli, run by a proud grumpy old man selling quality men’s shoes. Don’t bother to ask him much, spend that time in picking few quality pieces!
You won’t ever miss the beautiful orangish-red corner building of Galeries Lafayette in Avenue Jean Médecin. Whether looking for designer clothes, or for something to gift, or for respite from the vagaries of weather, or for munching on scrumptious macarons, this is the place to be! You will find luxury brands such as Chanel, Armani, Hermes and Louis Vuitton along Rue Paradis and Rue de Suède. Although prices and collections may be same as elsewhere in Europe, you will be enamoured with exquisite boutiques and sophisticated staff, more than willing to chat with you on products and non-product related matters alike! Besides all, meandering through the streets of Old Town has its own charm, shopping on the go, with many surprise elements presented your way.
