Al Safa is a large 64 hectare urban park located off interchange 2 on Sheikh Zayed Road, bordered by Al Wasl Road and Al Hadiqa Street. Ever since its establishment in 1975, the Al Safa Park has remained one of the oldest and popular parks in Dubai.
The park has four entrances, one from each road that borders it. The park is famous among joggers and walkers for its panoramic views. The large green park is divided into sections and play areas. In fact, the part resembles a mini-city, complete with small-scale roads, traffic lights, and signs for children.
There are numerous facilities within the park, including the lake with fountain, waterfall, boating facilities, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, and football pitches. There is a video game parlour for teenagers, along with bumper cars and big wheel. There are the barbecue sites, ponds that offer boats for hire, train rides, and soft jogging track around the perimeter of the park, and bicycle tracks. Free parking is permitted except on Thursday and Friday nights when it gets busy.
