Two holiday special trains running on Kalka-Shimla route discontinued from today

Service of two holiday special trains on the Kalka-Shimla route, which were started for the convenience of tourists travelling to Shimla, have now been discontinued. Travellers won’t be able to make use of the special train service; these season special trains took to the tracks on 20th April this year.
Apparently, these seasonal special trains are run by government every year for the ease of tourists coming to visit Shimla. The first holiday special train was train number 52445 between Kalka railway station to Shimla railway station at 7 AM every day; while the second one to be discontinued is train number 52443 departing from Shimla for Kalka every afternoon at 12:45 PM.

This summer too, more than thousands of tourists travelled to Shimla in the holiday special toy train running from Kalka. Not only this year, but an increase in number of tourists has been noticed every year.
Most of the trains on the route get booked much-in-advance, so the government arranges for special trains catering to tourists. But now that the season is almost over and monsoon has hit the region, not many people are booking seats in these trains; thus these seasonal trains have been taken off the track. Notably, monsoon is not the preferred season to travel to any hilly region because of an increased probability of landslides and other natural calamities. Not many people like to travel to mountainous regions after summers, so the dip in number of tourists is understandable.
