There is no dearth of religious places in and around Ahmedabad. Once a major hub of Sufism, Ahmedabad has old mosques dating back centuries such as Sarkhej Roja, Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, Jama Masjid and Rani Sipri’s Mosque. Other than their religious significance, most of these mosques are of great architectural relevance as well. The Sun Temple of Modhera, the Swami Narayan Temple and the very famous Somnath Temple that lies at a drive of some six hours from Ahmedabad are some major religious centres for the followers of Hinduism and are worth a visit as well. These religious centres are among the most prominent places to visit in Ahmedabad.
