Rajasthan is not just about grand forts and palaces. The state also boasts a thriving wildlife scene that has kept nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers busy for a long time. There are several national parks, sanctuaries, and reserves that one can explore when in Rajasthan.
These wildlife parks and forests offer a unique opportunity to witness some of India's most iconic wildlife, including the majestic Bengal tiger, leopards, blackbucks, and a plethora of bird species.
Here are some of the best wildlife parks in Rajasthan that every wildlife enthusiast must experience.

Ranthambore National Park
This is one of India's best tiger reserves. The national park offers excellent chances of spotting the majestic Bengal tiger.
Sariska National Park
If you are a fan of the big cats, Sariska National Park and Tiger Reserve is a good place to visit. It is located in Alwar district. In addition to tigers, you can see leopards, hyenas, and various species of deer here.
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
It is one of the best bird sanctuaries in the country, and a great place to go birding. Bharatpur is great throughout the year, but during the winter months, the bird sanctuary turns into a magical place with hundreds of bird species, both resident and migratory.
Desert National Park
This park offers a unique desert wildlife experience. You can spot wildlife such as the Great Indian Bustard, desert foxes, and different species of reptiles in their natural habitat.
Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary
The wildlife sanctuary is located near the famous Kumbhalgarh Fort, and is home to various species of wildlife, including leopards, wolves, and sloth bears.
Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary
Rajasthan’s only hill station, Mount Abu, is also a great place to spot Indian leopards, sambar deer, and various species of birds. The cool climate of Mount Abu adds to the charm of the experience.
Tal Chhapar Sanctuary
This small sanctuary is known for several species of raptors, reptiles, and most importantly, blackbuck. Watching these graceful antelopes in their natural habitat is a unique wildlife experience.
Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve
Ramgarh Vishdhari Wildlife Sanctuary became Ramgarh Tiger Reserve on May 16, 2022. It is India’s 52nd Tiger Reserve.
Jawai Bandh Leopard Conservation Reserve
Located near Jawai Dam in Pali district, this reserve is known for its thriving leopard population. It offers a unique opportunity to see leopards in their natural habitat.
