Gion District
The Gion district is noted for its traditional wooden machiya houses and geisha culture. The streets of this district look enchanting when lined with lanterns. There are also little tea houses where visitors can catch glimpses of geiko (geisha) and maiko (apprentice geisha).
Kiyomizu-dera Temple
Kiyomizu-dera is a hilltop temple that offers stunning views of Kyoto. The cherry blossom season is absolutely magical in the region. The backdrop of the city below is framed by seasonal blooms.
