Famous for its colourful hibiscus flowers, steep green peaks and turquoise waters, the beautiful island of Pulau Tioman lies off the east coast of peninsular Malaysia. Holiday lovers are enchanted by the warm beaches, lush rainforests and friendly, authentic village life. Thanks to its dramatic topography, this teardrop-shaped isle was named one of the world’s most beautiful in the 1970s by Time magazine. The Island is part of a marine park and boasts of beautiful coral reefs that teem with colourful and exotic fish—making it a perfect destination for snorkelling and diving. Its dense forested areas form nature reserves that are home to protected species like the binturong, slow loris, mouse deer and a variety of squirrels.
