The streets of Puerto Rico will soon be rife with great artworks as a new initiative called the Blank Canvas Initiative gets launched, calling artists from across the world. The initiative will see massive blank canvases dotted all across the Carribean Island, calling artists to leave their works of art on them.
As of now, Alexis Bousquiet, Celso Gonzalez, Vero Rivera, and Bob Snow, all street artists from Puerto Rico, are placing Reserved For signs in various empty wall spaces across the island. You will find some of these signs in Santurce in San Juan and other art places, and they are actually an invitation for street artists to come and contribute to the street art culture of the island. So, if you are an artist travelling to Puerto Rico, you must look out for these blank spaces, where your art is very much welcome. This could be a fantastic way for you to get exposed to the art scene of Puerto Rico.
The project is being launched in partnership with Discover Puerto Rico, the official tourism board of the island. These artworks will also serve a purpose, as they will be showcased during Puerto Rico’s street art festival, Santurce es Ley.
