No humans allowed: Places that are off-limits to tourists!
Humans have managed to reach the moon, so it seems a bit bizarre if they fail to visit some places on Earth. Well, it’s interesting to note that humans have actually failed to visit many places. Here, we bring to you some of the most interesting places across the world that are still off-limits to people. Read on to know more about these interesting places.
Surtsey, Iceland
This place came into existence not very long ago. It came into being via a volcanic eruption spanning from 1963 to 1967. It’s interesting to note that this location remains off-limits to the general public, and only a handful of scientists are allowed to conduct research on its unique ecosystem.
Snake Island, Brazil
True to its name, this dangerous island in Brazil till date remains off-limits to people due to its infestation of thousands of highly venomous snakes. The chances of coming back alive from this island is very low. In short, the perils associated with venturing to this location is so evident that even the Brazilian Government has prohibited people from visiting this island. If reports are to go by, the Snake Island in Brazil serves as home to around 4000 golden lanceheads, recognized as the most lethal snakes on Earth.
Tomb of Qin Shi Huang, China
Home to around 160 residents, Niihau Island strictly prohibits the access of external individuals. Permission to visit this locale is only granted to those who have familial connections to the island or are affiliated with the US Navy. It has been reported that the government has implemented these restrictions to safeguard the island's environment and its wildlife. Thus, despite its picturesque allure, Niihau Island remains inaccessible to outsiders.

Doomsday Vault, Norway
Widely known as the Global Seed Vault, this location holds immense significance for humanity as a whole. Allegedly, it houses a collection of 100 million seeds from various parts of the globe, intended to serve as a resource for revitalising the world's flora in the event of adverse developments affecting our planet's vegetation. Unveiled in 2008, the vault has been designed to endure for approximately 200 years, boasting resilience against earthquakes and explosions.
Fort Knox, USA
It’s interesting to note that at this location, rests a significant portion of the United States' gold reserves, thereby earning it the reputation as the most intensely secured site on the planet. Do note that none of the personnel possess the means to enter the vault, requiring familiarity with multiple combinations. Interestingly, each staff member is aware of just one of these combinations. Additionally, the structure itself has been constructed from granite fortified with concrete and steel, ensuring its ability to withstand potential external threats.
Mezhgorye, Russia
Russia reportedly has a number of enigmatic locations, ghostly settlements, and similar eerie sites that might prompt you to question the persistence of their secrecy. Among these is Mezhgorye, a concealed town nestled somewhere within the Southern Ural Mountains. Two battalions stand sentinel at this location, deterring any ventures into the town. The reasons for this exclusion remain ambiguous, leaving outsiders to speculate about the motivations behind barring entry.
Pravcicka Brana, Czech Republic
Pravčická Brána is not just a renowned highlight of the Czech Republic; it also boasts of being Europe's largest naturally formed sandstone arch. While it was accessible to visitors until 1982, it has since been declared off-limits to the general public. This purportedly stems from a measure to mitigate erosion that affects this exquisite landmark. Regrettably, the imposed restriction hasn't proven effective in curbing the erosion, as the process continues unabated.
