About 79 boats, which include 23 snakeboats, will take part in the boat race. Of the 23 snakeboats, 20, including the Champions Boat League, will contest in the final race and the remaining ones will participate in the exhibition race.
The racing contests have been divided into different categories such as under Iruttu Kuthi ‘A’, Iruttu Kuthi ‘B’, Iruttu Kuthi ‘C’, Veppu ‘A’, Veppu ‘B’ and so on.
As per the reports, there will be 12 Champions Boat League races to be organised between August and October in order to boost tourist arrivals in the state.
