As per the latest news reports, the said zoo will be spread across 100 ac and will have a host of jungle safaris and trails, a separate breeding centre, some unseen wild animals, nature education centre, and other facilities as per the guidelines of Central Zoo Authority (CZA).
If everything goes as planned, the new zoo will be virtually adjacent to two popular tourist spots, the Film City and the nearby Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP).
In the coming days, the BMC will be chalking out a comprehensive master plan for the said zoo, which will be carried out by its resources.
Also, as per the MoU, the forest department will be providing all the technical expertise that is required to procure various animals from the zoo and the other facilities which would help showcase the rich biodiversity of the country and the state.
