The 30-day-long Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) survey covered Kochi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, New Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Although, Kochi bagged the highest ratings of all the airports, it still handles around 9 million passengers annually as compared to the Mumbai airport which caters to around 45 million passengers every year.
The survey was conducted with the objective to get passenger’s feedback on the quality of services provided at the airports as well as to evaluate how well the duties are discharged by the Airport Security Group (ASG). About 3.30 lakh passengers took part in the survey which was carried out from October 1 to October 30, 2017.
Out of 5 travellers, around 4.91 said that they felt safe at the Mumbai airport. And 4.89 passengers felt they were satisfied with the accuracy of security checks, civility and cooperative behaviour of the CISF officials. Only 0.91 passengers said that they were not happy with the quality of services meted out.
Director General of CISF OP Singh said, “With an aim to improve our services without compromising on security parameters, we have hired a professional agency that will again analyse the survey and help us improve our services.”
