Mt. Srd

Go on top of Mt. Srd. Although walking around the city of Dubrovnik gives you a great idea of the layout, there is no better way to see how the city is laid out than by enjoying an aerial view of it. Mt. Srd to the rescue! A mountain that sits right behind the city of Dubrovnik and is adorned by a fort at the top, Mt. Srd can be reached in three different ways. If you’re up for a bit of exercise, you can hike up for almost 90 min from the old town to the top of Mt. Srd. If you’re driving, it’s fairly easy to drive up to Mt. Srd. If you’re in no mood for physical labour and don’t mind queues, the Mt. Srd cable car will bring you to the top for a return fare of USD 15. No matter which mode you choose, the end result is out of this world. The view of the old town and the multi-hued colours of the surrounding Adriatic sea will leave you speechless.

There is a restaurant at the top that serves basic fare, but in all honesty you are here for the view. The best time to go is early evening, just to give you enough time to walk around at the top and find that perfect spot for witnessing what is going to be one of the best sunsets of your life.
