Another volcano with a massive crescent shaped crater lake is Mount Batur, located in Kintamani in Bali. Driving down to this stretch is like a memorable journey in the lap of nature as the area is known for its beautiful scenery and bubbling hot springs. Mount Batur is an active volcano, and one can either climb up the crater or head to the temple, Ulun Danu which was once located in the crater but has been relocated. You can now visit the temple standing atop a ridge and see Mount Batur at the other end. I for one decided to get lost in the many shades of blue of the lake.
