Post-COVID-19, take your mother out, in tune with nature with gift of a sustainable trip. India, of course, has tonnes of great places to visit, but you could venture abroad as well if you have the will and the money. There are some amazing Southeast Asian nations that offer loads of fun and are culturally rich. So here we go, with a list of great places to go on Mother’s Day.
Myanmar
Shimla
One of India’s major hill stations, Shimla has been a favourite destination for a long time. Located in the Himalayan state of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla would be a perfect getaway during this scorching summer heat. Shimla has some lovely resorts and hotels, plus it is known for its natural beauty of course. You cannot go wrong with this one!
Bhutan
The much-loved Himalayan country is known for its peace and harmony, so what better place than this! The best part about going to Bhutan is that it is very close to eastern India, and can even be entered by road. Bhutan’s beautiful landscape is definitely extraordinary, and its food is pretty unique. You would definitely create some rad Instagram memories here!
Gangtok
A beautiful hill station, and perhaps the most urban of all hill stations, Gangtok is always a delight. You will find yourself amidst misty mornings and cold evenings, and having escaped the blistering heat it is always great. Gangtok too has numerous hotels, but you should try staying near MG Marg as all the attractions are in and around here. Do try Sikkimese cuisine with your mother!
