Kala Academy is a riverfront property that is beautiful and big. This academy of arts focuses on development of dance, drama, folk art, music, literature and more to promote cultural cohesiveness. Kala Academy is a riverfront property that is beautiful and big. This academy of arts focuses on development of dance, drama, folk art, music, literature and more to promote cultural cohesiveness. Designed by renowned architect Charles Correa, it sports three main venues to showcase unlimited talent; there is an auditorium, an amphitheatre and an exhibition hall. Additionally its popular Black Box facility is used for performances such as competitions, music concerts, plays and seminars. This site also offers training and workshops through its four schools—The School Of Dance, The School of Drama, The School of Indian Music and The School of Western Music.Check for events before you go or simply take a stroll through this arty corner of Goa to enjoy ongoing exhibitions and enjoy conversations at the riverfront over a cup of coffee. Situated on Dayanand Bandodkar Marg in Panaji's posh Campal area, this 1970 academy of arts is alive to changing art forms and entertains all age groups. So if you are travelling with curious kids, Kala Academy should be on your list of things to do while in Panaji. It is open all days between 09:00 am and 06:00 pm.
