If you are planning to spend a quiet and relaxed evening in Kolkata, then Millennium Park is the best place to be. A part of the extensive Kolkata Riverside Beautification Project, the park was gifted to the city by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) as a millennium gift. Stretching across 2.5 kilometres along the Hooghly River, the Millennium Park was inaugurated on 26th December 1999. Beautifully designed landscapes and manicured grasses, the park attracts a lot of visitors, especially during sundown. It is also dotted with a few sculptures that add to the beauty of the area. Children’s amusement rides are another attraction of this park. Do not forget to capture spectacular views of the Howrah Bridge with your lenses from the park. Located at Strand Road, the Millennium Park can be reached easily from the Howrah Bridge and also from BBD Bagh bus stop. Do stopover for a charismatic evening by the River Hooghly at the Millennium Park at least once during your visit to Kolkata.
