Foy Sagar

Foy Sagar is the second artificial lake near the city of Ajmer after Ana Sagar Lake. Despite being 123 years old, this lake is relatively new as compared to Ana Sagar, which is more than 800 years old. Foy Sagar is also named after the architect who built this lake, an English gentleman called Mr Foy. This lake was created as part of a famine relief project in response to a dire shortage of water and is capable of dealing with the severest of famines. An inscription at the lake gives all the technical details of the lake, including its depth and expanse, the money spent on building it and its date (1892).
