Perched on the hills overlooking the Linganamakki reservoir, Honnemardu is a small village located in Shivamogga town of Karnataka. Located just near to the famous Jog Falls, at the distance of 15km from Sagar, Honnemardu is known as the adventurous location attracting adventure enthusiasts for kayaking, trekking and boating. In addition to this, the town is also a birdwatcher paradise, where one can spend endless hours watching large varieties of birds in the town.
Honnermadu, got its name from the tree named honnee tree in the village, which is now submerged under water of the dam. Though, there is no sign of human habitation, but there two tiled house which is being accommodated by bunch adventure enthusiasts calling themselves “The Adventurous”. This group will organize all your adventure activities including trekking, kayaking, boating, camping and other activities.
Nearby Attractions: Apart from the famous Jog Falls, there is another remote village called as Gademane, very close to Honnermadu. This remote village is famous for Chitara art, where every home wall is beautified with pictures, especially during occasions.
