Cannanore Lighthouse

Located close to Payyambalam Beach, Cannanore Lighthouse is the immediate neighbour of the Mascot Beach Resort. This charming and well-maintained lighthouse is a visual delight. The view of Kannur from atop the lighthouse is breathtaking. The lighthouse museum is a treasure trove of history, delightfully engaging inquisitive and learning mind. On display are some rare exhibits, a treat for history enthusiasts. Some of the exhibits at the Kannur lighthouse museum are the red ‘Light Ship’ that was anchored in the danger zones, an enormous optic used in the Lakshadweep Lighthouse, double-wick lamp belonging to the 19th century, a huge fog-bell used to warn ships and a radio beacon transmitter.
