Once you are done with walking around the old town and soaking in the history and architecture of Dubrovnik, leave the eastern end of the city through the Ploce gate and get onto this little beach. Owing to its proximity to the centre, expect crowds at pretty much all times of the day. It’s a pebble beach and although loungers and parasols are available for rent, you can choose to lounge without paying if you so wish. There is a restaurant and a bar serving food and cocktails at the beach. On a sunny day, this beach is the perfect place to get a tan and have a cocktail. The water is warm and perfect for swimming between March and October, but outside these months it can be a bit chilly. If you’re here for some activity, then you can indulge in water sports such as jet skiing, paragliding and banana boats. As the sun sets, the private part of the beach transforms into a club and is ideal if you’d like to dance the night away. Given the size of the beach, it can get crowded, so if you’re after some peace and quiet, you’d be better off driving a bit out of Dubrovnik.
