The beach is one of the best in Rio for beach volleyball, but competition for court time is fierce. Excellent for families, the waters are safe for young children to splash about in, but also features several prime surfing spots. The nightlife on the beach is also a highlight, with plenty of clubs, bars, restaurants and shops that stay open late for post-beach fun.
