A big fat Indian wedding at the beautiful Himalayan ski resort of Auli has left behind 24000 kg of garbage, thus turning one of the most serene locals in the Himalayas into a back alley of Delhi. The wedding that took place last weekend in the charming little town of Auli cost the hosts INR 200 crore. The wedding was hosted by the Gupta family, an NRI business family from South Africa.
Auli is a star attraction of the Himalayas and is a premier ski resort of the country. Apart from skiing in Auli, visitors can also experience a state-of-the-art cable car, which links Joshimath to the slopes above Auli. It is also known as a trekker’s paradise,with some fine routes for trekking. From Auli, one can also trek to Nanda Devi, Kamet, Mana Parvat, and more.
