Delhi school, colleges, cinema halls closed till March 31; government declares COVID-19 an epidemic

The Delhi government has now declared Coronavirus an epidemic and taken all the possible measures to stop the virus from spreading further. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made an announcement regarding the same last night.

The decision was taken after the number of virus cases increased rapidly not only in the country but across the globe. The Delhi government, in the announcement, mentioned that all schools and colleges, including those that are over with examinations, will also remain shut till March 31.
In addition to these measures, the government is also preparing itself for the worst and has decided to increase the number of beds in hospitals. This will help them to deal with the Coronavirus outbreak situation more effectively. As per the government, it is all geared up with more than 500 beds in different hospitals in Delhi to combat the virus.

The government is already taking precautions and has asked the official to sanitise all public places including government and private offices thoroughly. This will also include retail shops and malls on a regular basis.

Recent and sixth case in Delhi

The new and sixth case of the virus was reported in West Delhi's Janakpuri after an elderly woman was tested positive for Coronavirus. As per current reports, the 69-year-old infected woman is now admitted to RML Hospital in Delhi. Her 46-year-old son has a travel history of Japan, Geneva and Italy.
