Perhaps the most famous beach in Sardinia, La Pelosa is close to the fishing port of Stintino, in the top North of Sardinia, from which it can be reached via a shuttle bus. It is a gorgeous sandy beach with shallow clear waters, a Spanish watch tower on the extreme left, and an incredible view over the nearby Isola Piana and Isola dell’Asinara. There are several kiosks that serve food, drinks and rent sun beds and umbrellas. The beach gets incredibly (and almost unbearably) crowded during the peak summer months, to the point that it may actually be difficult to plant an umbrella and lay a towel. It is best to go at the very end of the summer, after the second half of September, or in June. It can be easily accessed even by disabled. The parking lot is very expensive so consider taking the shuttle bus from Stintino.
