Dubrovnik is ideally located to explore neighbouring countries, especially Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sarajevo is less than a 5 hour drive away and definitely worth exploring on your trip. The capital city is European but has an inimitable Eastern flavor. It has recovered from the Yugoslav Wars of 1992-1995 but the marks of this historical event are everywhere to be seen. This is what makes it so interesting as a tourist destination. Make sure you take your time to explore the Old Town—here mosques, synagogues and cathedrals co-exist lending it a unique flavour that is hard to find anywhere else in Europe. If you’re a keen photographer, then do visit the Yellow Fortress that offers a great view of the entire city. When you’re hungry from all the walking around, try traditional Burek (meat pie) or ćevapi. Sarajevo’s culinary scene is amazing and the best part is that most eateries are extremely affordable. So do not leave without having at least a couple of meals in the city.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
