Kerala to open first all-women staff hotel in India

A brand new initiative by Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) is aiming to open a hotel that will be completely run by all-women staff. The hotel will be opened in Thiruvananthapuram, and the name of this hotel has been stated to be “Hostess.” This could prove to be a good option for single female travellers looking for hotels in Kerala.
The hotel is looking to open up in six months, and will be located close to the Central Railway Station. Kadakampally Surendran, Tourism Minister, Kerala, inaugurated the construction work that is going on here. According to a statement given by KTDC chairman M. Vijayakumar, “This all-women hotel is first of its kind initiative to form a government institution in the country. We give more emphasis on security and safety features besides comfort and convenience. If it becomes a success we will come up with similar hotels.”
Hotel Hostess is expected to meet global hospitality standards, and will have some state-of-the-art facilities technology, alongside automated security services, complimentary breakfast, and as well as fitness centre.

According to reports, KTDC is looking to pull women from various backgrounds to this hotel, including women researches, sportspersons, and travellers. The hotel has rooms as well as dormitories. In total there are going to be 22 AC Rooms, and two AC dormitories to accommodate 28 people. Women can avail the dormitory facility on hourly basis as well, and according to the rates, four hours would cost INR 500 only.
