It is believed that the ruins of the ancient Sarishika town are buried at the site of Ther Mound in Sirsa. It is a vast site extending over an area of more than five km. However, hardly any archaeological excavations have been done at this site due to the dense human settlements. Nonetheless, the stone sculptures, coins, an inscription, pieces of pottery and other antique items have thrown good light on the archaeological important of this place. Overall, Sirsa is a town where a Gurudwara, a prominent Hanuman Temple and a Jama Masjid exist to support the existence of people following different faiths.
