According to Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, para-medics will ride these two-wheeler medical ambulances, which will reach the accident or casualty spot within time. To start with, there will be 20 such two-wheeler ambulances operating in the city.
The ambulance is going to be equipped with all the facilities to aid the person concerned immediately. The bikes will be equipped with facilities like oxygen cylinders, and injections to stabilise the patient.

The major reason behind the launch of these two-wheeler ambulances is to mitigate the time taken otherwise to reach the patient by normal ambulance, which usually gets stuck in the traffic, thereby, delaying the process of providing aid. Thus, now two-wheeler ambulance will overcome this hassle and provide timely aid to many.

As Rane said, such service is already available in Karnataka, and Goa is going to be the second state to provide the service. Along with that, Goa is also going to set up 10 new four-wheeler ambulances especially for cardiac arrest patients.
“The cardiology department of Goa Medical College is preparing a protocol required to be followed while treating such patients in these new ambulances,” added Rane.
