In the western part of Hunua Ranges Regional Park is an amazing 30 m high waterfall, a part of the Wairoa River. Pick up a trusty car rental from the East Tamaki depot and start with the road trip 45 minutes southeast of Auckland to Falls Road. At the end of this road, you’ll find a safe place to park your car hire and access to the track that leads visitors to this hidden gem.
Hunua Falls Lookout Walk: an easy 15-minute return track taking you to the opposite side of the river.
Falls Upper Lookout Walk: an easy 30-minute return loop track taking you to the upper waterfall lookout.
