Playa, in Spanish, means beach. Playas del Coco consistently rank in top 20 beaches of the world through various surveys done worldwide. The reason for this glory is that it is one of the best diving spots in the country. The beach town is perfect for any party animal at night. You can walk the main street of the town which is open well past midnight. There are hotels, home stays, mid-range hostels, and budget range hotels. In July, Fiesta Del Virgen Del Mar is celebrated which has a religious fervor to it. Playas del Coco is essentially is party place with a very active diving and snorkeling community. You can pay to join people heading to the deep sea for sport-fishing and sailing. People also get their kayaks here. Lookout for the man with a horse at the beach, and enjoy horseback riding on the roughly 40 km stretch of coastal beauty.
