Tehri Lake Festival to be hosted from March 17

That exciting time of the year is fast approaching for Uttarakhand, as Asia’s biggest lake festival will soon be back in Tehri. To be hosted from March 17 to 19, Tehri Lake Festival will be attended by tons of visitors from around the world.

Latest reports suggest that the main attraction of the Tehri Lake Festival will be adventure sports, with the motive of promoting tourism in the region. The Tehri Special Area Tourism Development Authority and tourism department have already started preparations to host this three-day festival.
Every year, the Uttarakhand government hosts the Tehri Lake Festival, which is considered as Asia’s biggest lake fest. Anyone interested in being a part of this festival should book their seats well in advance. The government’s focus now is on developing the lake as an international tourist spot.
The highlight of the festival this year will be the Swiss tents that have been set up to facilitate the stay of the guests. Also, to boost adventure tourism in the state, visitors will be able to get a glimpse of adventure sports here and also take part in sports, such as paragliding, scuba diving, canoeing, hot air balloon, parasailing boat, kayaking, rock climbing, rappelling, all-terrain biking, and much more. Then, the festival will also see foreign participants showcasing their skills.
Reportedly, the Uttarakhand Government is planning to host four big festivals in Ramnagar, Tehri, Auli, and Rishikesh before March. Secretary Tourism Dilip Javalkar, referring to these festivals, said that preparations have already been started regarding the same.
