It is not only the whole of North India that is under the biting cold wave conditions, but the winter chill is being experienced by the natives of Northeast as well. According to the reports, Nagaland recently received medium snowfall for after about four decades.
Guwahati experienced a temperature of 9 degree Celsius, whereas in Shillong it was 5 degree Celsius. Nagaland’s commercial town Dimapur experienced the winter chill at 8 degree Celsius.
In some parts of Nagaland’s four districts, namely Kiphire, Zunheboto, Phek and Tuensangit, it has snowed after a gap of 37 years.
The area is expected to remain dry for the coming two days, and there might be light to moderate rain in the next three days. People living in remote areas of the Northeast, barring Arunachal Pradesh, have been advised to watch out for thick fog in the coming days.
