Few facts about this great island—it is the 7th largest in Scotland and is known as a miniature Scotland, possessing all the amazing qualities of Scotland in one small island. The island itself is divided into two regions, the highlands and the lowlands and each features incredible things to see and do. The north is full of beautiful mountains and is wilder and more rugged, while the south has resorts and farmland. If you are looking for a more adventurous weekend getaway, this is the place for you. Whether you want to kayak the coastal waters, mountain bike through the forests, head out on a guided wildlife walk or scramble the gorges, all is available. This is also a place for foodies, particularly the dairy lovers as the island is famous for its cheddar cheese and handmade ice cream. There are spectacular castles to explore including Brodick Castle and one in Lochranxa as well distilleries, breweries and shops.
