Institute Menezes Braganza focuses on language, literature, art and culture and seeks to promote local talent in allied areas. Government of Goa took over the reigns of this prestigious institute at the end of the 20th century and renovated its premises. It is now known for one of the most tastefully done lobbies in Goa. It is popular for literary festivals, conferences, art workshops, exhibitions and various other events like art competitions. As an institute, it is also known as a publisher of conference reports and other books. Situated next to the Police Headquarters and diagonally opposite to Azad Maidan, it borders Swami Vivekananda road to its west. It is open (except Sundays) between 10:00 am and 05:30 pm.
