The government informed the parliament that Indian Railways is planning to install CCTV cameras in trains for increased safety of passengers, with premium trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto also considered under this plan.
Explaining further on the security measures provided across Indian Railways, Gohain said that security cameras are already installed in 394 stations for the safety of passengers. Talking about further plans of the government with regards to this, Gohain revealed, "An integrated security system, consisting of surveillance of vulnerable stations through CCTV network, access control, has been sanctioned to improve surveillance mechanism at over 202 railway stations".
