“World Sweet Festival” will be held from 13th January in Hyderabad. This three-day event is being organised by the Telangana government and sweet lovers will be in for a treat as they will get a chance to relish sweets from different parts of India and other countries too.
As per reports, sweets from around 15 foreign countries and 25 Indian states will be available at the event, which will be prepared locally by members of various associations.
No hotels, shopkeepers, or caterers will be allowed to set up stalls at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad as the festival is purely dedicated to celebrate the diversity among different communities.

The stalls will be arranged not according to the state, but as per the sweets being offered, like you will be able to find ‘payasam’ made in Telangana, Kerala, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Assam all at one counter. The Tourism and Cultural secretary in this context mentioned, “So each sweet variety will look like a mini India.”
There will be live counters too, where spot preparation of sweets can be witnessed. Also, sweets made at home will be there on display at the event. Venkatesam also informed that a mobile app and a website have also been launched to highlight the event.
