Iceland is soon going to open an open sea beluga whale sanctuary, which is going to be the world’s first. The open sea beluga whale sanctuary is expected to attract a large number of tourists in Iceland. The sanctuary is located on the island of Heimaey, which is a part of the Westman Islands. According to reports, it will be at the Klettsvik Bay.
Also included here will be a puffin hospital! This place will house beautiful little puffin chicks, and they would be monitored and researched on. There would also be a visitor’s centre, where guests can come in after paying a fee. A great place to learn, and understand all about whales. Visitors would also be allowed to visit the bay in small batches with the help of boats.
