Perfume Pagoda

The Buddhist temples that make up Perfume Pagoda are built into the limestone Huong Tich Mountains and are also known as the Huong Pagoda. There are several temples to see when you visit the Perfume Pagoda. From the Red River, you will see Den Trinh, also known as the presentation shrine, or the Shrine of the High-Ranking Mandarin. Here, you will also find elephant statues and a ceremonial room.
Then, there is the Thien Tru Pagoda, also known as the Outer Pagoda. This houses the Vien Cong Bao Stupa, a structure where Ch’an Master Vien Quang is buried. You will then see the Giai Oan Temple, which houses a natural blue pond. The Huong Tich Cave is also very interesting, since the entrance to the cave resembles a dragon’s mouth.

The journey to the Perfume Pagoda is an adventure in itself; you’ll need to travel by road, then by river, and then by cable car or on foot.
