Omkareshwar Hill
A sacred hill station, this place is also known as the Mini Varanasi. This place is known for its popular Omkareshwar temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva, which is also one of the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines in the country. Then there is another shrine located here known as Amarkareshwar, which most travellers make it a point to visit too. Other places to visit when here are the Omkareshwar palace, Gomukh Ghat, Mamleshwar Jyotirlinga, along with the Narmada River, where one can go boating with their family and friends.
Pachmarhi Hill
Also known as the Queen of the Satpuras, as it sits above the sea level of the Satpura range. Some of the highlights of this place are the famous five caves commonly called Pandavas cave, Priyadarshini, and Apsara vihar, which is one of the most favoured places for a family picnic. When here, you can make a trip to the Rajendragiri sunset point to enjoy fabulous sunset views.
Mandu Hill
This ancient city in Madhya Pradesh is also best known for its architectural beauty. This hill station has an attractive natural scenery, which can be best experienced during the rainy season. This destination is also known because of its natural safeguard, where fort walls and hills make for an ideal defence strategy. In short, this place has so much to offer that you might just want to make your quick trip a long one.
Tamia Hill
It’s one of the best-kept secrets of Madhya Pradesh, where you get to enjoy some of the best views of mountains and dense forests. If you have been keen to disconnect from mundane city life for a change, you should visit this part of the world, where its unexplored terrain will let you be a part of the change and experience something new. It’s also surrounded by forests. Many of the fauna present here are believed to be medicinal plants. Also, there are rocks that date back 2500 million years!
Shivpuri Hill
Sitting at a height of around 462 m above the sea level, this place has some beautiful lakes to boast of, such as Jadhav Sagar Jheel, Chandpatha Jheel, and others. Prominent places to visit here are Madhav National Park, and Banganga temple. Also, there is this great place called Karera Bird Sanctuary, which is a must visit for all nature and bird lovers.
