Haksar Haveli, although a landmark and one of the major ones of Chandni Chowk owing to its historical significance, is barely recognisable since it has since then been parcelled off into a quasi-residential and a quasi-commercial quarter. Situated in Sitaram Bazaar, bang opposite Chawri Bazaar metro station, it takes a bit of an effort to discover this haveli since it looks nothing like it. If you are following the Nehru-Gandhi trail, you will be fascinated by the ordinary-ness of this place that once hosted Jawaharlal Nehru's wedding to Kamala Kaul. Challenge your imagination to recreate a scene right out of 1916 when Delhi's political heavy weights would have congregated at this very spot. The haveli was also visited by Indira Gandhi who was said to have broken down on visiting her mother's maternal home.
