Gulf of Porto

There is a reason why the Gulf of Porto is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A protected nature reserve, Porto offers a great drive through the Calanques de Piana, located between the town and the village of Piana. The red granite cliffs of Porto feature typical Mediterranean vegetation and a remarkable bird life. Scandola Nature Reserve is another UNESCO listed site with a rich wildlife. The mountainous region of Scandola Peninsula with its sharp cliffs overlooking the sea and offshore islands is a place one must pay a visit to.
