Just outside the city, Grouse Mountain is a year-round leisure destination, very popular with locals. In winter, Grouse Mountain is a ski resort; in the warmer months, it's a recreation hub. Visitors can enjoy nature walks, zip lining, helicopter rides, casual and fine dining, and several interactive demonstrations such as Breakfast with the Bears and Birds in Motion. The world's only windmill with a viewing platform, Eye of the Wind, is also worth experiencing. You can take a cable car up to the top of Grouse Mountain, or if you're very fit, try the Grouse Grind and climb up. Free shuttle bus from downtown Vancouver.
