The temples
Ajari
About 5 Km south of Pindwara on the way to Abu Road, is the village of Ajari. Only 2 km from Ajari village is the shrine of Mahadeo and Saraswati. The setting of this place itself is mesmerising with honey-combed date-trees and a small rivulet flowing nearby. Add some small hillocks at the background, and you have an ideal setting for a picnic. It is believed that Markandeshwar Rishi had meditated here. There is a holy Gaya Kund at this site where people immerse the ashes of the dead after performing funeral rites.
Bheru Tarak Dham
Bheru Tarak Dham is located in Nandgiri valley, which has been a settlement for the holy sages. From here a track ushers travellers to Mount Abu. It has also served as a source for supplying household essentials to the natives of Mount Abu. The place has a temple made of white marble called Sahastrafana (one thousand hooded serpent) of Parshavnath. There is a Dharmshala, Bhojanshala, and other pilgrim amenities in the temple campus. It was beautified with ramparts, tanks, orchards and high palaces. This place is now called Vasant Garh. It is located 8 km to the south of Pindwara on the banks of a river.
