According to latest reports, the Great Wall of China’s Badaling section is set to get a visitor cap. The most popular part of the Great Wall of China, the Badaling section gets numerous local and international tourists at any time, and to ease the crowd, the authorities have decided to set a daily cap quota of 65,000 tourists, starting June1.
There is also a new online ticketing system for visitors to book a visit, and you need to purchase the tickets under your own name, seven days prior to your visit. Visitors will also be notified of the congestion level at the Badaling system, and there will be some crowd controlling methods put in place. For 39,000 visitors in a day, the authorities will flag a yellow warning, orange warning for 52,000 visitors per day, and red warning for 65,000 visitors.
