One of the largest and busiest railway stations in USA, the century-old Grand Central is also a beautiful landmark. Its neoclassical Beaux Arts style is most evident in the massive main concourse, the blue ceiling of which features a map of constellations. It also has several good shops, bars and restaurants; the acclaimed sea-food centric Oyster Bar is worth a stop. The Grand Central Partnership organises free weekly tours of the terminal on Fridays, focusing on its architecture, construction and secrets.
