If everything goes as planned, India might soon have flying cars to boast of. As per the latest reports, the Netherlands-based flying car maker, PAL-V ( Personal Air Land Vehicle) will be setting up a manufacturing plant in Gujarat. Reports also added that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Carlo Maasbommel, PAL-V VP of International Business Development Division and the Principal Secretary of State, MK Das. As per the statements issued by the carmaker, the government will be lending a helping hand to get all necessary approvals that are required to set up a plant in Gujarat.
Further, as per the statement issued by the company, Gujarat has been chosen because of its world-class infrastructure as well as the ease of conducting business. The statement also says that because the state has enhanced logistic facilities and commercial ports, it will prove to be helpful for the carmaker
Moreover, the Made in India flying cars will have two engines, and have the potential to run at a speed of 160 kmph on road, and fly at a speed of 180 kmph. Another special feature of these cars will be to transform into a flying vehicle within three minutes and cover 500 km distance in a full tank.
While the design of the vehicle will be such that it will be able to carry around 20 kg of baggage, it will also be able to seat two people at a time. However, the upper limit of this vehicle to carry a load will be of 910 kg.
