While making this announcement, former cricketer Sidhu pointed out that this flight will act as a major role in connecting the state of Punjab with other destinations in Asia and Europe.

Expected to make international travelling more convenient for travellers, these flights will be operated four times a week. Sidhu revealed that these flights will start operating around the time of Diwali festival in India.
The minister also said that since 30 percent of those who travel abroad from New Delhi are Punjabis, they will be the one who will be benefiting the most out of it.
Sidhu further pointed out that these flights will be convenient for not only the foreign tourists wanting to visit Amritsar, but also the NRI Punjabis who like to do the same. He also said that the Amritsar-Kuala Lumpur flight will prove beneficial for students who are looking to travel to Australia for pursuing higher studies.
